"Hackers" Empty "Hackers"

Post by Sky Sun Jun 22, 2014 2:07 am

I see this from time to time where someone calls themselves a "Hacker" but all they have done is either use a Code/Program someone else has made or have just messed around with Float Addresses. The community regarding this also doesn't help, they give them a little to much credit for just "Activating" a code they didn't even make.

The definition of "Hacker" has defiantly been loosely used and has changed from describing someone who "uses computers to gain unauthorized access to data", or is a  "skilful computer programmer or user" (Oxford Dictionary). Now, don't get me wrong I don't think anyone that uses a Hex editor to just change values then saves the address and calls it a "Cheat" should be called a "Hacker" either.

They also have a false sense of pride and their ego skyrockets, that probably sounds biased but there is some truth to it, such as: On PSP2 I see so many people threatening to "corrupt" someone else but most of the time they can't back up what they say (Don't even bring up your little Card corrupt either, cause for one you didn't make it, and it doesn't even work unless they accept the card). They claim to be able to brick someone's PSP, I for one call BS on that one, especially if they claim they can do it through TempAR.

I'll also say that no, I guess that it wouldn't be impossible, but the high chance of them actually having the knowledge to do something like that is nearly absurd. Even so, if you they did have the knowledge to do it, what are you doing wasting your time on a PSP game using a little Hex editor? By the way, this rant isn't targeted at anyone in particular.

Anyway's I think I have ranted enough for today, just that this topic really bugs me. Also, let me say I don't claim to be any good at this either so don't think I'm making the point that I'm an "UbEr Meeggaa Hakerserzzz", cause I'm not.

"Hackers" Empty Re: "Hackers"

So what are u trying to gain exactly by writing this long ass topic?
U think your little naive words will help now? U should have written that back in 2009 when evrything started.

Sometimes i doubt why ever met u in the first place, i should have dealt with u in the beginning when i was head of u, either way u are weak and show no potential to hurt anyone. If u have the guts to face me then let's settle the score once and for all between us and see who is the normal one here.
And if i lose i will do anything u want or ask, i am a man of my word, but if u lose u will give up psp2 once and for all.

And don't flatter yourself u weren't a hacker to begin with.

"Hackers" Empty Re: "Hackers"

Code:
I seen these threads plenty of times, and I say yours is the shortest and least comprehensible.

I will write the shortest definition of a hacker: Someone who thinks using a psp code is a ub3r hax0r.

Once again it's no diffren't then using a up down down left right cheat code.

I don't classify no one on the star wars series a hacker. People assume using codes makes you a pro hacker.

Using a float mod, or a dma code don't make you a hacker finding codes don't make you a hacker. Making a subroutine from pure mips 4900(psp) is just a coder. I realize this, everyone in my game socom ftb2 assumed they're the shoot because they could activate a code.

So lets get down to the basics of what makes someone a 'hacker'.

A hacker is classfied by 3 types: White,Gray, Black, and Red.(If you were a true hacker you would understand my reference. Instead of googling it means redhat linux which is a prime security distro).

White: These are the people who work for the fbi and are the ones who have the ethical practices in testing servers,malware analyzing and solving, and vulnerability analyzing.

Gray: These people are in the middle they choose to have both parts of the cake. They choose to be good or bad(white & black). Over morale issues. An example is the hacktivists such as 'anonmoose'. The ub3r skids who think using LOIC is a ub3r hacker.

Black: These are the people who do malicious things for profit, value, or to be recognized. A good example of these people are the syrian cyber army. They are the ones who do it to be recognized.

Furthermore, you just got the basics in what is a security user is.

Keep in mind this isnt code but the only one that uses a damn background.

Ps: It's possible to brick someones psp thru a cheat device, find an exploit in the cheat device run arbitary code and do sce_remove("flash_0");

Nothing, I had written this out of pure frustration when I had seen these two guys bickering back and forth with corrupt threats.

Spectra wrote:U think your little naive words will help now? U should have written that back in 2009 when evrything started.
Nope, I don't. Trust me this has been around a lot longer, it didn't start in 2009 because it's not just regarding PSP2.

Spectra wrote:i should have dealt with u in the beginning when i was head of u, either way u are weak and show no potential to hurt anyone.
Why make threats at me when this thread had nothing to do with you? This isn't a race or a competition. So because I won't make threats at others it makes me weak? Why would I try to hurt someone over a video game?

Spectra wrote:If u have the guts to face me then let's settle the score once and for all between us and see who is the normal one here.
I have no plans of "facing" you, if you would like to talk this out like adults and not make empty threats then I will be happy to oblige.

Spectra wrote:And don't flatter yourself u weren't a hacker to begin with.

I'm pretty sure I already covered this in the topic.

This thread was posted in a agitated state and was posted at 2:07 AM, so I'm quite sorry if it was hard to understand. I hope it relayed my general message at least.

I'm guessing this was also less clear, I had meant it was not just regarding the PSP community, but everywhere. Like Xbox, PS3, Wii, PSP, PC.

I merely posted this as was I suggesting that the term "Hacker" had been degraded, and it's definition more or less changed. A person who secretly gets access to a computer system in order to get information, cause damage, etc. : a person who hacks into a computer system. (Webster Dictionary).

Ace700 wrote:Ps: It's possible to brick someones psp thru a cheat device

I meant using only TempAR to Brick their PSP and not outside coding. Only using the Browser and Decoder portion of TempAR to brick another's PSP because that's what they claim.

Ace700 wrote:find an exploit in the cheat device run arbitary code and do sce_remove("flash_0")

I've seen people claim that not having write access would protect against using code to delete flash_0, but it merely is used to not show up in mounting your PSP to your computer. (Might be wrong, so correct if I'm wrong).

Well actually a psp is just a linux os, you can't remove it via mount(USB) if you have flash protect (only works via PRO CFW) M33/OE all that other CFW don't have it.

You can still run it because think of a OFW update. What happens is it deletes all the flash files and overwrites it. I could create a prx call it psp2 pro hacker and get tons of noobs too use it. It's still possible to run arbitrary code, but you need to be able to find an exploit. If you seen arbitrary code what happens is you find a DEADBEEF and then once you find the stack overwrite you Jump it to your Subroutine and run the malcious stack there. It won't matter to me if I get bricked because i'm running my flash off my memory stick.

Basically my prx does this:

Code:

if(Flash_0 == Ms0)
sce_load_modules();

else(Flash_0 == Flash_0)

Not the exact script but psudeo code.

Correct, but the primary example is the PSP. Hacker can also mean someone who mods and exploits a system, BUT that only goes to people who actually does exploit. People who use them are just people who modify their cfw with a pre made script.

Trust me I know how the PSP scene is. I been in it since late 2005. I had a phat psp a slim a brite so many to count.
